Source Book 11.25.2008

The first three are taken by Andy Frazer. These were all taken during the night using quick burning torches as the only source of light. I stumbled upon these while searching for help with night time photography. http://gorillasites.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

I've not confirmed the photographer on this photo but what I do know is that the anomoly was unintentional and proved to quite interesting.

These photos were taken by Bill Swab, who was referenced in Andy Frazer's blog.

TV Stills

Note these screen captures do not play, I provided the link if you're interested in looking at these short film. [They're well worth lookin into] I realize they are not actual TV captures since I do not have access to a TV at the moment.
This is a capture of the music video by Michael Franti and Spearhead - Say Hey. Musics important and a friend refered this song to me, I have to say, its growing on me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoaTl7IcFs8

Things of things are always interesting to look at, This is a still captured from a video capture of a game called Little Big Planet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2Tkg9JJbiY
I look at fonts more closely since I have to get more intimate with design. Heres an example of how font can really punctuate a scene, the scene is taken from Pulp Fiction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqc4FqvXlKs

This is a capture from the Halo Live Action Project which shows a series of shots we'd associate with military applications and surveillance

Boxing, can be really fast and with a trained eye you may even catch a glimpse of a punch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmaPxa-eZss&feature=related

Heres yet another example of how text can be graphical.

Now heres a piece that I can strongly relate to. There were too many good things going on so I condensed it into 3 scenes that hit close to home. The capture is of a documentary animation of an Animator Ryan Larkin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvfgLBMmtVs

Emulation

In this project I emulated Lichtfaktor, an Artists' Collective from Cologne, Germany. VJ $ehvermögen (photographer and VJ) and JIAR (communications designer and graffiti artist) experimented with the possibilities of long-term exposure and painting, thus creating light writing or light graffiti. To achieve a similar effect, using a digital camera and a tripod, the camera was set to 30 second exposures at 100iso with the smallest aperture setting. The sites chosen, indoors in a studio or outdoors on a wall or in a public setting, helped to show the different effects light has on various spaces and environments. The photos I have chosen help me to understand the effects of light within different settings and to create a dialog between the light graffiti and the surroundings.
